“ They should really mention that this place is inside uncle Julio's in the mall. Got an OG burrito was a little smaller than I expected, but it was good . ”
“ I've gotten delivery from here twice. We figured out quickly it was a ghost kitchen for Uncle Julio. We've never eaten at Uncle Julio because ... well, because honestly mall restaurants .. come on. Ghost kitchens these days seem to thrive on a couple key factors: - Trendy menus, typically a bit more experimental than their host brands - Better values than their host restaurants - Modern technology experience, - Delivery ! - Hidden fees Savage Burrito hits on all of these. You will not find particularly typical Tex Mex or Mexican food here - it's all more 'modern' and Americanized plates. I find the prices to be rather reasonable for "app food"; certainly there are better values to be found in Columbia, but I'm not aware of any Mexican (or Mexican-ish) food that will deliver to our house outside of using a 3rd party delivery that really, really runs up the bill. Their website is very easy to order from, and you get up updates on when the food will arrive. There is a delivery fee as well as a service charge, and then of course you tip. I'm not a fan of any of these. I prefer transparent up front pricing, and employees making normal wages like any other industry. On our last order, the subtotal was 67.50, and the added fees, not disclosed in the menu that I'm aware of, was 7.57 - that's an 11% uplift. We then tipped on top of that, bringing the total meal to over 89 dollars. However, the delivery is timely and pleasant. For the 89 dollars we received 3 full size burritos, a kids burrito, a salad, a small desert (we added on the 1/2 size churro bites to an entree), 3 small sodas drinks added on to entrees, and lots of chips and queso (both added as an app and as a side to an entree). This actually fed us all and gave us leftovers for the next day, so we were good with the total price. Others have commented that the amount of chips and quest you get isn't very much, and I do have to agree. However, by adding items on as a side to an entree, versus adding them from the main menu, you can get them for significantly less. As an example, you can add a small chips and queso for 3.50. You can add on their Izze sodas for 1.50. Each are a bit more when selected by themselves from the main menu. We find the food quality to be pretty good. Not out of this world, but honestly not bad at all. I'm sorry I don't have pics of the food, or more details on the actual servings and food quality... I've been slacking on my Yelping (I mean, it's not like I actually *get* anything for all the in depth reviews I've written). I will say however that we've purchased from here twice, and there have been no complaints or hesitations. I'm not happy about the "gig app" style uplifts, though it's significantly less than some of the charges I remember the one or two times we used a gig ordering app. We will continue ordering from here. I'm excited about ghost kitchens offering more alternatives, and allowing brands to experiment more. While the value of a ghost kitchen I would say still isn't quite on par with a good Mom and Pop restaurant, it's gotta be a better value then eating at a Mall chain restaurant. Lol ... who does that ? Sorry, no photos. I suck. Maybe next time. ”
“ We found this place while looking for quick take out and liked the sound of their different burrito options. We decided to each make our own, but with the fried chicken. We also got some queso on the side. I do think they need to make it MORE CLEAR that this location is inside of the Uncle Julio's restaurant because when you look up the address, it shows it on the second floor of the mall. I walked around like an idiot. Called the number listed for Savage Burrito, but there was no option to speak to a person. I decided to call Uncle Julio's and they said pick up was inside their restaurant. After getting the food home, everything was ice cold because I wasted my time trying to find them. Other than that, things tasted pretty good and the fried chicken was a nice choice. The side of queso was disappointingly small, and was just okay. We'll definitely try again, but just know you have to pick up inside the restaurant and maybe you'll get hot food! ”
“ Savage Burrito is proof Uncle Julio's can make a good quesadilla, at a reasonable price, and instead elect to charge 50% more for their own quesadillas while providing few options and smaller quesadillas. ”
“ Ordered from Uber eats. I actually went though the one in Annapolis but that isn't listed. So I can't speak to the specifics of this restaurant but I assume it's mostly the same. I had the spicy chicken salad, carnitas burrito, large chips and a bottle of hot sauce. The burrito is good, large and tastes good. The salad was ok. Very dry. It needed a dressing or something. It wasn't bad but I wouldn't order it again because of that. If you don't have utensils. Make sure to order them. They're not included. The chips. The large is a huge portion. Half a bag full. Go with the small unless you're feeding a group. The hot sauce is in a tiny bottle and worth the 52¢ ”
“ This place is tasty! I've ordered from them twice now and they did not disappoint. The quesadillas are flavorful and they give you a decent portion. Savage burrito is a must try! ”
“ New Ghost Kitchen concept for Uncle Julio's finally in Columbia, MD. I had no idea, but ordered from this place on Uber Eats. Got a Nashville hot chicken quesadilla, chips and guac, and a spicy chicken ranch burrito from this place. All of it was large portions, fresh, and good. Can't say I'd come back since its only takeout orders, but I'd definitely order from it again! ”
